The Eel Room has students from K5 to Grade Three. These students work on academic skills in the morning and often participate in special activities in the afternoons. They have "reading buddies" in the afternoons with the Grade 6 class. These students go together to the Library, write in their journals and read a book with a Grade 6 student. This is an activity enjoyed by both classrooms. This classroom has two teachers; Miss Rose who prepares academic work for the students and Mr. Sharkey, who helps students deal with problems they face. Sometimes the students join their regular classroom for certain subjects. Other times, they complete their work in the Eel Room. Almost every Friday afternoon, the students particpate in an extra-special activity if they have completed all their work. This activity could be a movie and popcorn or a field trip. The students enjoy this activity, especially after a hard week!
