The Akwesasne Child Care Program provides child care services at three centers
as well as Private Home Day Care. Our philosophy is to provide your child
with warm, loving, quality care in a professional and culturally appropriate
setting that enhances his/her growth and development. Our staff are trained
and experienced in child development and family dynamics. As part of the
team, they are always willing to work with you on child care issues.

Our Child Care Centers and Home Care Sites follow the Day Nurseries
Act and the ideologies of Early Childhood Education. We also offer several
opportunities for parents to review program content with our child care
staff and Home Care Providers.
Child Care Centers
Our Child Care Centers provide planned activities to develop language, creativity,
gross/fine motor skills, self-help skills, cognitive and social skills,
and cultural awareness. Your child/children will also participate in a wide
range of educational activities and learning experiences that are adapted
to their readiness level.
Home Care Sites
Our Home Care Program provides an informal and flexible service for your
child in a home setting. Your child/children will participate in age appropriate
daily activities in a clean, safe, and secure environment.
Ages We Accommodate
Child Care Centers
Our Child Care Centers welcome toddlers and children from 18 months of age
through to 5 years. Two (2) children out of ten (10) can be 16 months of
age.
Home Care Sites
Our Home Care Sites accept children from 6 weeks of ages through to 12 years
old.
Our Hours
Child Care Centers
Our centers are open year round, with the exception of statutory and MCA
designated holidays. We offer full time care from 7:30am to 5pm, Monday
through Friday.
Home Care Sites
Our Home Care Sites can be more flexible according to your needs. If needed,
Home Care Providers can accept your child on weekends, holidays, half days,
before and/or after school, extended hours, or shifts. These services should
be discussed with your provider, however, and if given adequate notice,
arrangements can be made to accommodate your needs. When emergencies arise,
we try to work with you for alternate care arrangements for your child/children.
