Financial Accounting Officer: works in conjunction with the Comptroller for Mohawk
Council of Akwesasne to oversee the various programs financial needs. Prepares
computerized financial statements for the Department of Social Development
and Health. Preparation of budgets; business plans; daily updating, monitoring,
maintenance, creation and analysis of the financial activities of the Department
of Social Development and Health. Assists and educates Program Managers
in the preparation of budgets and business plans.
Personnel Officer:
Under the direction of the Director, the Personnel Officer plans, coordinates
and directs all functions of employee relations including labor relations,
recruitment and selection, safety and training, provides professional and
technical staff assistance and performs related work as required. Also works
in conjunction with the Human Resource Manager of Mohawk Council of Akwesasne.

Operations Unit
The Operations Unit was established in August 1996. The primary goals and
objectives were to provide support to programs within the Department to
ensure the efficient operation of systems pertaining to the effectiveness
of service provision to their clients.
This was done by:
* Coordinating activities within the Division.
* Establishing and monitoring an annual operating budget for the Division.
* Coordinating requisition of equipment and supplies for the Department.
* Identifying and resolving any operational problems that arise.
The Operations Unit is responsible for:
* Facility Management - 8 Facilities: Operational staff ensure the overall
maintenance and operational requirements of these facilities including heating,
ventilation, and air conditioning; safety systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers
and security alarms; each facility provides janitorial services.
* Supply & Equipment Acquisition is coordinated through this Division.
Purchases or leases for photocopiers, fax machines, and cellular phones
are conducted by personnel within the Division. Staff maintain a central
area for supplies that are required for general office use, equipment such
as fax machines, copiers, binding machines, etc. Billing is also provided
to each user program who obtain these services supplies within the Department.

Client Advocate
Client Advocate will be responsible for assisting the general public in
a variety of ways (directing them to appropriate office locations/personnel);
inform public of available services within the Department as well as other
Mohawk Council departments; assist in the completion of forms; act as an
interpreter for clients, community members when it is needed; conduct surveys
and interviews; collect and compile statistical data on the quality of;
service delivery; assist in the development and design of the program's
pamphlets and brochures; ensure pamphlets are current and up to date with

Medical Transportation
Eligible individuals may request financial
assistance to attend medical appointments Applications must be submitted
before the appointment date. Any out-of-town travel must be pre-approved
and supported by documentation from the doctor. Clients are responsible

Switchboard/Receptionist: Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the
Receptionist/Switchboard Operator will be responsible for the maintenance
and operation of the telephone system and acts as the contact person with
the equipment supplier, greeting and directing incoming visitors and telephone
calls; taking and recording messages and disseminating to appropriate staff
