Tom has earned a huge following for his enthusiastic style, round-the-clock vigilance during weather emergencies and unflappable commitment to our communities and schools throughout Akwesasne and across the Seaway Valley. Tom has visited over 600 area classrooms; he's likely been to a school in your hometown at least once. Tom's weather is heard every half hour throughout the day, with a special live "weekend report" on Friday mornings.
His meteorological duties keep him at News Channel 5 WPTZ well past midnight, but he's up at the crack of dawn updating forecasts. Then, it's off to read to youngsters or present his famous weather program. Tom has visited Akwesasne numerous times, including an annual visit to help support the Mountain of Toys Christmas Basket Drive.
Tom studied meteorology at the State University of New York at Oswego and Mississippi State. He's a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society, holding the AMS Seal of Approval. Through the years, Tom has been involved with the United Way of Chittenden County, the American Heart Association, Share with a Hungry Neighbor, D.A.R.E, Make-a-Wish and the Alzheimer's Association. He was also a director with his church's youth group.
Free time is spent with his wife Kate and two children on Lake Champlain or on the slopes, depending on the forecast!
Tom is now well into his FIFTH year of weather forecasting for 97.3 CKON Radio! And his forecasts are - WITHOUT QUESTION - the most accurate in the entire Seaway Valley!
