My  name  is  Chantelle  and  I  am  11  years  old  and and  I am  going  into  grade 7. I attend   A.M.S ( that is  short  form for  Akwesasne  Mohawk  School.) I  live on  a  reserve  called  AK WE  SAS NE  and  that  means  Land  where the  partridge  drums. I  have  two  sisters  and  one  baby  brother, I  am  the  eldest  out  of  all  of  them,  my  family  is  Mohawk  and we  all  have  a  native  name, it  is  wa te wa na ha we tha  and  it means  within  she  carries  her  voice. I  attend  the  long house with  my  family , if  you  are  wondering  what  a  long house  is, I'll tell  you.
 The long house  is very  long  and  it  is  built  like  a  log  cabin.  In  the  winter  it  is  very  warm, and  in  the  summer  it  is cool. At  the  long house  we  do  ceremonies  and  socials.Right  now  I'm  trying  to  learn  my  native  language  and  it  very  hard  to because the  only  language  I  know  is  English.
