Speakers/Workshops
Speakers
Once a month the Cancer Support Network hosts a speaker luncheon. This luncheon is open to cancer patients, their families, or anyone with interest. At each luncheon a different topic will be discussed.
Topics such as:
Pain Control
Alternative Medicine
Public Service Announcements of the luncheons are announced on T.V.(Community Cable 11), Radio (CFLG), and the local papers (Standard Freeholder, Seaway Valley News). The announcements give details as to where and who is speaking.
Lunch is held at different restaurants between 11:30 and 12:30. The speaker begins at 12:30 and ends at 1:30.
Sheila Airey - Head Coordinator-speaks to all who are interested. Including Church groups, Service Clubs and whoever is interested.
Workshops
These workshops give cancer patients, their friends and families the benefit of learning different situations of everyday living. Situations such as coping with cancer, ways of relaxing, and feeling better about yourself.
In the future there will be workshops to train people for various sections involved with the Cancer Support Network. The trainning workshops will be held to teach people how to do various jobs to help the administration.
